Scan, read, organise. Nothing leaves your phone.
Scan a document; the edges are found, the page is straightened and it becomes a PDF without a watermark. Text is recognised on the phone, so you find documents by the words inside them. See where a QR link really goes before you open it. No internet permission, no account.
- No watermarkScanning and export free
- No internet permissionNo account, server or analytics either
- No camera permissionGoogle’s on-device scanner
- No ads, no subscriptionEverything in 1.0 is free
Text recognition
Text is recognised on the phone.
The text of your scanned pages is recognised in the background, on this phone, Turkish characters included. No internet needed; it works in airplane mode too. Copy or share the text page by page or all at once.
- Latin-alphabet languages; a notice for other alphabets and handwriting
- Recognition resumes where it stopped, even after you close the app
Search and library
Find a document by a word inside it.
Search looks at document names and the recognised text, and shows which page matched with the word highlighted. Turkish letters match correctly: “İZMİR” also finds “izmir”.
- Your searches are not stored
- Folders; a deleted document waits 30 days in the trash
QR and barcodes
The real address, before a link opens.
Nothing that is read opens on its own. The domain a link would open is shown in large type, with warnings for look-alike letters, shorteners, unencrypted (http) links, IP addresses and the “@” trick. The check runs on the device; the address is never sent to a server.
- No open button for dangerous link types (APK, javascript:)
- Wi-Fi, contact and phone codes through the system screens, no permission asked
- QR history is optional; Wi-Fi passwords are masked
Sharing
PDF or JPEG, no watermark.
Share a document as a PDF or JPEG, or save it to the device; best quality or a small size for email. The size shown is worked out from the real output.
- Nothing is added to the file
- Saving to the device asks for no storage permission
Privacy and backup
Your documents stay on this phone.
Scan has no internet permission, and no account, cloud, server, analytics or ads. Nothing is backed up to Google Drive automatically. When you change phones, you move your documents with a single backup file and choose where it goes.
- Restoring never deletes your current documents; it only adds
- Delete all data at once from Settings

Questions about Scan
Privacy
Scan has no internet permission; your documents stay on this phone. The full text is on the policy page, in English and Turkish.
Where can I download it?
Scan is in closed testing on Google Play. When the public store page opens, the download link will be on this page. We do not distribute APKs.
Is it paid?
No. Everything in 1.0 is free: scanning, text recognition, QR, export and backup. No watermark, no ads, no subscription. If a paid option is added later, it will be clearly marked up front in the store and in the app.
Are my scans sent to Google?
No. The document scanner and the QR reader are on-device components of Google Play services; images are not sent to Google. That is why Scan asks for no camera permission. Play services downloads these components once on first use, not the app.
Which phones does it run on?
Android 8.0 and later. Scanning with the camera and reading QR codes need Google Play services; without them, gallery import and everything else still work. An iPhone version is not planned for now.
